It always amazes me how much I experienced during my youth without truly realizing or appreciating it. I was simply unaware, perhaps even naive.

Southern California, during that time, was a hub of expansion and innovation, possibly more than any other place. The South Bay, in particular, had its unique contributions.

One such innovation I recently discovered was closer to home than I realized. My alma mater, Palos Verdes High School, stands as an architectural gem, designed by the renowned 20th-century architect, Richard Neutra.

He’s best known for the iconic Kaufman House in Palm Springs.

Neutra’s profound influence on Modernism is evident, with Southern California adorned with many of his masterpieces.

Beautiful Architecture is truly remarkable and something I’ve come to deeply appreciate.

And, it also makes me think of the lyric from Lin Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton:

Look around, look around at how lucky we are
To be alive right now
Look around, look around

That would be Enough – Hamilton – Lin Manuel Miranda
